The Half Hollow Hills ThunderColts swam away with the League 1 Championship yesterday at Sachem East High School. Hills won 6 of the 12 events on their way to score 351.5 points to win another title crown behind the performances behind Lucas Tacks‘ wins in 200 IM 2:03.29 and in the butterfly with a state qual time of 53.93. Ben Glazebnik qualified for states in the 50 free 21.99 and 100 free 47.62. Matthew Szypula also won the 500 free with a state qual time of 4:49.12. Sachem finished 2nd with 279 points. Top performers for Sachem included Mike Dowd 200 freestyle state qual times of 1:45.01 and 100 free 48.49. Sachem’s 200 Freestyle Relay(Ryan Engel, Quin Honan, Avery Davis, Dowd) qualified for states with a time of 1:29.66. Chester Pergan of Smithtown qualified in 100 backstroke with a time of 53.90.
